May 21st, I was so very excited to take the trip to Providence, RI for the opening of the Recycle Arts Show at West Side Arts. This hip little gallery is under the care of Jyll and Travis Mullen, two great artist themselves, and is a venue for social change.
The Recycle Art Show explores consumerism and creativity through the mediums of found objects and inspired reuses of old materials. I was honored when asked to participate in this show with the monsters I have created from a collection of Nanny’s yarn (dating back to the 1970s.) Here are a few shots from the opening :
Thats me and Jyll enjoying the show.
Everyone say hi! to Erik, Blanketface, and Number Four.
I also brought along the other masks. Here you will see some me engaged in serious talks about art with some tiny critics:
or playground trash talking.
These girls were a lot of fun.
We followed up the art opening with The What Cheer Brigade’s (the 18 member marching band) fifth birthday bash at AS220 which began with a renegade parade. Leave it to What Cheer to know how to party.

Thanks Providence. That was awesome. And thanks Jayellingphoto.com for all the pics.
