HoHoHo at Huck and Stuff

Tis the season. The temperature is finally falling here in New England and we all begin to scatter into a holiday haze.

I was invited to create a tree for Greylock Federal Credit Union’s participation in The Berkshire Museum’s annual Festival of Trees. This year’s theme being Under The Big Top made for a great inspiration to crochet a Dr. Seuss-ish Christmas tree.

back to masks

This year I have had so many really great projects to test my artistic talents. Though, for the last several months, none of them have been about masks. Well the folks, I’m back at it.

I have a few awesome awesome commissions, and I started the first today. Look forward to seeing a new fox soon… And for now, here is a quick photo tour of some of the side projects I’ve done in the last few months:

See You At The Museum

I was beyond honored when recently, the Berkshire Museum asked me to be an Artist in Residence this spring. I took the opportunity to make something larger and more complex than what I have made before. I took inspiration from triangles, geodesic domes, zomes, crystals, minerals, platonic solids, Lou Reed, facets & geometry. I sought to create a small geometric structure that one might be able to sit inside.

The process has been arduous and complicated. I have almost completed the project. I can’t wait to see how it turns out.

See you at the Museum!

And This One

Been busy busy busy lately in the huck and stuff doll factory. Say hello to Mister Lionface of Mneim, such a cutie.

Dolls

Hello, internets… welcome to my cuddly side. History proves, I like big scary monsters… but before there were big scary monsters, there were adorable miniatures.

Here they are anew.

Christmas commissions: a lion, a monkey and two unicorns.

As Tilly says, “Happiness Christmas!”

Clinton Years, Old Journal

Felt old today when describing my travel overseas as:

‘During the Clinton Years.’

I was a dredlocked, 19 year old hippie girl and each time a Morrocan man would learn I was American they would make a joke about Monica Lewinsky, involving a broken French, English/Sign Lanuage…. each time a French man would learn I was American he’d just turn away in disgust.

Underwear Holds Down Unemployment, Old Jornal

Inspired by my current lack of employment, this old collage seems to bring me hope, or at least make me laugh. The text reads : Underwear Holds Down Unemploymet ( a cut out from a 1970′s National Geographic, collaged sometime in 1999 while hitch hiking through the Mid West for the first time. )
