Resolving…

Welcoming in the New Year with great momentum, and feeling so fortunate for having been able to hone my craft so much in 2011.

So here goes, Resolving to… Let Go, Let God.

When I think of my mom, I think about here total resolve to Let Go and Let God. It was one of her favorite things to say, and her only way of living. Even though I don’t think of God in the same ways these days, I still feel the meaning is valuable in our lives today.

And let’s face it, 2012 is kinda giving me the heebie-geebies. The best thing I can do is Let Go, Let God.

And swim more.

And walk the puppy.

And raise up my girls right.

And get my goods out into the world.

Most specifically, California…

Look forward to Huck And Stuff Party Wear Spiritheads, coming soon. Tell your friends.

HoHoHo at Huck and Stuff

Tis the season. The temperature is finally falling here in New England and we all begin to scatter into a holiday haze.

I was invited to create a tree for Greylock Federal Credit Union’s participation in The Berkshire Museum’s annual Festival of Trees. This year’s theme being Under The Big Top made for a great inspiration to crochet a Dr. Seuss-ish Christmas tree.

Art on Ice

Hey friends, lets all go to North Adams! Okay? Okay!

I just finished making this new style of ultimate headwear: wire framed animal heads, just in time for the holidays. They are debuting at Gallery 51′s annual 99 Show. Sure to be a good time.

Party Reviews

Went to a party, a fabulous party, and was written about a bit…. with fellow party goers Daphne Guiness and Salman Rushdie… swoon

Thank you to all the people who came out to wear masks the other day, and all the people who didn’t come out to wear masks but agreed when we begged and pleaded.

Autumn with Braidface

Autumn could not pass without an opportunity to capture the beauty we have here in Western Massachusetts. Thank you Eric Korenman for the amazing photos and the great fun getting them.

Big thanks to model Kelly Smedvig.

what for

Sometimes I’m asked what people do with these masks.

Artist Walton Ford commissioned a mask to be warn at his upcoming opening at the Paul Kasim Gallery.

And at the Three Letter Man Gallery  in London you can see a fox embroidering in the second story window. Also seen across the internets www.hop-skip-and-jump.blogspot.com and in Time Out London.

and then there was this

braidface continues

Here is a mask I have been working on for months. It stumped me for the longest time, but I think I just might figure it out really soon.

Some masks are so drastically different in person versus in photos. It is difficult to figure out how to create something that translates well into both 2D and 3D viewing.

Braidface has been a struggle to find the loft and motion of the braid. Today I came close. Thank goodness, because we have a photo shoot scheduled for next week. I am very excited to bring Braidface out to collaborate with the brilliant New England fall foliage.

Keep your eyes out for a new photo set, coming soon.
